NetBookGamer revamp

 |  Blog, Websites  |  Share

Major revamp to www.NetBookGamer.com , from Joomla to WordPress!

Well, its been a long time coming, Netbookgamer was my first real test of moving from Joomla to WordPress. For anyone interested I harp on about moving from Joomla to WordPress in this post. Either way, NetbookGamer was my first real world test of the mighty transformation, despite a few teething problems with the template the whole shebang has been a success.

Go on, take a look, I`m sure your gagging to see its nifty new WP incarnation. Marvel at the site speed, gasp at its google lovin nature, be awed by the simplicity in updates.

Additional SEO work, now ranking 1st link for chosen keywords. Traffic growth around 10% per month.

About Me

 |  Blog  |  Share

My name is Tony, I`ve been working in IT for around 20 years. Originally in hardware sales and construction I started working online (design and HTML) in the mid 90′s. My career has seen me working in Multimedia and online services both here in the UK and abroad.

In 2004, after the birth of Oskar my first child, I decided to leave the rat-race in London and move to the South Coast. I know work freelance, mostly creating small CMS based websites for individuals and business, I also look after a small number of my own projects, creating both content and managing SEO.

I initially worked with Coldfusion and SQL to create bespoke dynamic websites, but in 2005 I started using Joomla, as this speeded the process up and reduced costs. Since then I’ve not looked back, although I still have a soft spot for Joomla more recently I have started using WordPress. It was several years ago since I looked at WordPress, at that time I was not too impressed, but recent updates have finally (IMHO) really brought this impressive CMS upto scratch – its now my weapon of choice due to speed and simplicity of development. More importantly is its ease of use, all my websites are created with a view to being managed and updated by their owners, for this WordPress is by far the best choice – its simplicity itself!

I manage a small number of Adsense based websites, these allow me to perfect both content creation and Search Engine Optimisation as well as providing a humble income stream on a monthly basis.

Now living near Brighton, I enjoy my time developing and raising my kids (Oskar and Luca)
